What this site collects, and why
This site is a set of static pages served from a content delivery network. It sets no advertising or tracking cookies, loads no social-media embeds, and hosts its own fonts, so visiting a page makes no request to a third party.
Who is responsible for this
The data controller — the person who decides what happens to the information described on this page — is:

What is stored in your browser
A few small values are kept in your own browser so the site behaves the way you left it. They are readable only by this website, they are never sent anywhere, and clearing your site data removes all of them.
| Value | What it is for | How long |
|---|---|---|
np-theme | Whether you chose the light or dark theme. | Until you clear site data. |
np-lang | Which language you last chose, so a later visit opens in it. | Until you clear site data. |
np-sound | Whether you switched the page’s sound on. It is off unless you do. | Until you close the tab. |
as-scene-return | Which photograph you were looking at, so returning from a product page puts you back there. | Until you close the tab. |
np.attribution.first / np.attribution.last | The page you first arrived on in this browsing session, the site that linked you, and any campaign parameters in that link. No identifier for you is created, and none of it leaves your browser unless you send an enquiry. | Until you close the tab. |
If you send an enquiry
The form sends what you typed — your name, email address, and whichever of the optional fields you filled in — together with your message, your two checkbox answers, the language and page you sent it from, which of the four areas of work it concerns, and the arrival information described above. Nothing is added that you cannot see: the enquiry your browser sends is the enquiry you wrote.
The first checkbox is required, and it records that you have read this notice — not that you consent to being replied to. Replying does not need your consent, and asking for one you could not refuse without losing the reply would not be a real choice. The marketing checkbox is a genuine consent: separate, unticked, refusable, and not a condition of your enquiry being answered.
Why your enquiry may be handled
Your enquiry is handled because you asked for a reply, and — where an enquiry leads somewhere — in order to take the steps that precede a possible project. Optional marketing updates are different: those happen only on the consent you give by ticking the second box, and you can withdraw that at any time by replying to any message or writing to the address at the end of this page. Withdrawing marketing consent does not affect anything else.
Where an enquiry goes
The form posts your enquiry to this website’s own endpoint, which validates it and sends it on as a single email to Nico’s mailbox. It is not stored on the website, it is not written to a database, and it is not passed to anyone else. If that send fails for any reason you are told so plainly, and offered the same enquiry as a message you can send yourself from your own email programme — in which case nothing is transmitted until you press send.
Who else handles it
These companies are involved in running this site and getting an enquiry from your browser to Nico, and no others:
| Who | What they do |
|---|---|
| Cloudflare | Serves this website, runs the endpoint the form posts to, and passes the resulting email on. If the spam check described below is switched on, that is Cloudflare too. |
| Plausible | Counts page views and a small number of interactions — a call-to-action followed, an enquiry sent or failed, a datasheet opened. It receives no cookie, no identifier for you, and nothing you type into the form. |
| Resend | Sends the enquiry on as an email. It handles what you wrote while the message is in transit, and does not keep it afterwards as a record of you. |
| Google Workspace | Provides the mailbox the enquiry is delivered to and stored in, as ordinary email. |
Your enquiry is not copied into a customer-relationship system, a mailing platform or any other tool, because none is in use. If that ever changes, this notice will be updated to name the system before any enquiry reaches it.
How long it is kept
| What | How long |
|---|---|
| An enquiry that does not become a project | Three years, then securely deleted or anonymised. |
| Records relating to a project that does go ahead | Only as long as the contractual, accounting and legal obligations that apply to it require. |
| Your marketing consent, if you give it | Until you withdraw it, or after 24 months without meaningful engagement, whichever comes first — then deleted, or renewed consent is sought. |
Analytics
This deployment loads Plausible, an analytics service that sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. It records that a page was viewed, and a few interactions — a call-to-action followed, an enquiry sent or failed, a datasheet opened — each labelled only by category: which area of work, which product, which language, which page. It never receives your name, your email address, anything you typed, or any reference that identifies your enquiry. To count visitors without an identifier it derives a value from your IP address and browser, which changes every day and is not stored.
Spam protection
The form checks for two things a person would not do — filling in a field that is hidden, and submitting faster than the form can be read. Neither involves a third party.
Hosting and logs
This site is hosted by Cloudflare and served from its global network, which means the copy you receive comes from whichever of its locations is nearest to you rather than from one fixed country. Serving a page necessarily involves your browser connecting to a server, which keeps the ordinary short-term technical records that entails, including your IP address. Those records are Cloudflare’s and are governed by its own retention, not by this website. The endpoint that receives an enquiry reads your IP address once, to limit automated abuse; it is not written into the email, not logged, and not stored.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the personal data held about you, ask for it to be corrected, ask for it to be deleted, ask that its use be restricted, object to it being used, or ask for it in a portable form. Where you have given marketing consent you can withdraw it at any time. Write to the address at the end of this page and I will answer; there is no charge and no form to fill in.
If you are not satisfied with how I have handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK supervisory authority, at ico.org.uk. If you live in the EU or the EEA you may instead complain to the supervisory authority in your own country.
Questions, or a request about your data
Write to me and I will answer. This is also the address for any of the rights described above:
